13 Principles of Faith: Reflection

Of Rambam's 13 Principles of faith, which do you think are the MOST important to YOUR life? Are there any you feel you could not live as a Jew without believing in? Why?

  1. I think that #4 is very important because we have to know that HaShem is the first and last G-d and he has no end. Which means G-d is always looking and taking care of us. I also think that #6 is very important because we must believe what is passed down to us, meaning we should follow and keep what has been passed down by many generations!

  2. I think that #4 is important because believing in G-d is very important because you have to think of what all the wonderful miracles that in made especially making earth. But if we didn't have G-d we wouldn't know how to serve him or even think that he is real. G-d is over father and he loves us and watches over us to protect us. We should always have faith in our G-d because without him we wouldn't even be here and how much he did for us. I think #1 I could not live without because if we didn't believe in G-d who created the world then we would just be saying a guy made this universe and that is it. No, we cant say that because then how did we get the ten commandments and the amazing Torah. Believing in G-d makes me feel that there is more for my life and without him and people teaching me about our culture and how we react is amazing. We should have never have faith in G-d and let our generations go further and make as many of them we just keep passing our wonderful generation.

  3. I think that #1 is is important because, he created this amazing world for us and I think that we take for granted sometimes. G-d has no imperfections. I also think that #4 is important because, G-d makes so many miracles and does amazing things for us. Believing in G-d makes you feel stronger as a person and as a Jew, so we should have faith in G-d and pass this down to future generations.

  4. I think #1:believing that Hashem exists is most important because that's kind of what Judaism is. I mean we daven to thank Hashem, davening shows our belief in Hashem. I can't imagine being Jewish without believing in Hashem.

  5. It was hard to pick which one out of the 13 i thought were most important, but i picked the one that says to worship only Hashem and no false gods. This is important because we know that the real god is hashem and nothing or no one else. he is our father and he created us and everything and we have to have faith that he is the real god unlike other religions in the world that believe in multiple fake gods made of statues. i feel for a person to live as a Jew, they must believe that the messiah is coming and the resurection of the dead. the reason for this is because most Jewish people know that right now we are in gulut( bad place) and that one day when the Jewish people are read, we will be happy where there will be peace and everyone that died will come back to life. there are many believeings on how this can ahppen too, and many people believ that the messiah is coming soon. They already found one out of two of the read cows and they said before mashiach will come, the world will be in caos. Look around the world at all these tragaties and horrible things that are happening. So we as jewish people should believ that good will come from this and that when the messiah comes, that all our loved ones who passed will come back to life

  6. I think principle #4, which is, to believe in an eternal god is very important. To believe that god always was and knows what always will be means that god had knowledge that we will never know. There are many things that we question and one reason why we question is because we don't have even the smallest knowledge of what god knows and why the world is the way it is. It is comforting to know that there is something/someone to turn to no matter what good or bad time or place in your life you are in. We as a people are always trying to explain the explainable and we seek comfort in knowing that god answers that question. I know that a big part in my religion is that I take comfort in knowing there is a god looking out for me and there is a reason we go through everything we go through. Even if we don'k know why, we place our trust in religion.

  7. I believe that number 4 and number 1 are important. Number 4 states that we should believe in G-d for all eternity. That we should never lose hope of G-d being there. Also that G-d has been there since the very beginning. Meaning before the world was created. No matter what G-d will always be there for us. Number 1 is also very important. It says that G-d is perfect and without G-d there would be no world as we know it. G-d created everything in this world perfectly. G-d who is perfect in every matter of existence made this world. G-d made no mistakes. It is important because it is telling us that G-d is always there and without G-d we would have nothing.

  8. i believe #8 is the most important.
i think this is the most important because if you don't believe in the authenticity of the torah then its like saying you believe the basis of your faith and who you are as a person is a lie. its also very hard to believe that the torah is the exact same way as it was writing at had senai especially since we learned from a book that was typed on a computer
